Promotion of the BAS project starts!
EDEN centre and Tirana Municipality starts the promotion of BAS project (Benefit as you Save) in the occasion of International Earth Day!
This special day gathered together at the new Games Park closed to Pyramid in Tirana, 60 students and volunteers to say "STOP Plastic Pollution!” For 14 consecutive years we have been trying to convey to the citizens messages for the protection of our land and we have called them to join us with their actions.
Today we have chosen one of the quiet, but still central, neighborhoods of the city, not only to join worldwide movements but also to begin concrete work with civic awareness within the regional project Interreg V-B "Balkans - Mediterranean 2014-2020" titled "Benefit as you Save - BAS".
For more than 3 hours, students from New York's school in Tirana painted their messages for minimizing, reducing or rejecting the use of plastic bags on cotton bags created by EDEN volunteers using clothing that we no longer use. It was very exiting when Mrs. Albana Bregaj-Joxhe and colleagues of Tirana Municipality presented the quiz "Earth Wheel", whereby anyone can measure knowledge about the reduction, rejection, reuse and recycling of plastics.
The number of curious pedestrians was increasing when the students began to invite and try their knowledge in the quiz and the distribution of painted cotton bags by them.
With the desire to do something good every day, each of us can think and act to have a cleaner, more beautiful, healthier Tirana, with no garbage thrown anywhere.
